2014: Texas Motor Speedway Race Recap

FT. WORTH, Texas (November 2, 2014) - It was a dramatic end under the lights on Halloween at Texas Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series WinStar World Casino 350 with the caution and checkers waving in a green-white- checkered finish. Ryan Lynch brought the IDLifeRacing.com/BlankHood.com Chevrolet to a 22nd place finish, capping off his most successful NASCAR weekend to date.

Lynch went out Friday afternoon in the first round of knockout qualifying and recorded a lap of 30.944 seconds with an average speed of 174.509 mph around the 1.5 mile oval. The lap was just shy of sending him to the next round of qualifying, but good enough to earn him the 26th starting position. Lynch took the green flag under the lights Friday night with hopes of recording his best finish to date in the truck series. Lynch wheeled a tight race truck until lap 23 when the first caution came out. He brought the 07 in for new tires and a track bar adjustment. While battling for position on lap 57, Lynch grazed the wall and, being cautious, brought the truck in under green to bolt on four new tires and pull out the fender. He quickly got back out on the track, but was two laps down. As the night continued the team kept making adjustments to improve the truck's handling and his lap times rivaled trucks in the top 20. The race was red flagged after Darrel Wallace Jr. blew an engine, leaving oil halfway around the track on lap 107. Once the race resumed, Lynch continued to improve on lap times and eventually brought the 07 IDLifeRacing.com/BlankHood.com Chevy home in the 22nd position, the best of his career.

"It was an absolute blast to drive this truck tonight," said Lynch. "We started off pretty tight, and that's really why I got the wall just a bit. As I was battling my teammate, I just lost a little bit of air on the nose of the truck and it took away just enough down force to let the truck drift a little further out on the exit. Other than that, the truck was great and I feel like I really got to race hard the whole time. I can't thank SS GreenLight Racing and Bobby Dotter enough for working with me. It's really cool to have my best finish ever at my home track, especially when so many friends and family got to be there in the stands!"

The event was the 5th of Lynch's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series career, and the first NASCAR event of the 2014.Please check out BlankHood.com for the latest and follow Ryan on Facebook at Ryan Lynch Racing and Twitter at @ryanlynchracing.
