Texas Motor Speedway Race Recap

FT. WORTH, Texas (November 5, 2013)- Seeing the checkered flag wave under the lights at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) Friday night at the conclusion of the Winstar World Casino350K signified more to NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) driver, Ryan Lynch, than just the end of the 147 lap event. The final lap marked a 25th place finish and the completion of a lifelong goal for Lynch, to race at his home track in one of NASCAR's top 3 series.

After qualifying his No. 39 Blankhood.com/East Texas Food Bank Chevrolet Silverado 29th earlier in the day, Lynch started the race from inside row 15 just behind fellow Texan, David Starr. Shortly after the green flag, Lynch and the team took advantage of the first caution of the race and came in for a splash of fuel on lap 26. By lap 55, Lynch improved his position to 28th and continued to work on finding the fastest way around the 1.5 mile tri-oval. The second caution of the night came on lap 60 after an incident in turn 2 between No. 77 and No. 99. Lynch was pleased with the call made by the RSS Racing team to bring the truck in for 4 new tires and fuel. Lynch then made his way to the 27th position by lap 75 but came on the radio saying the truck was tight on exit of the turn and could use an adjustment. Not long after his request, the third and final caution of the night came on lap 100 to clean up oil left on the track from the No. 51. During the caution, the final pit stop included 4 tires, fuel, and a track bar adjustment for Lynch. In the last 40 laps, Lynch was able to maneuver through traffic and gain two more spots to bring his No. 39 truck home in the 25th position.

"What an awesome night. It was exactly the results we were looking for. We had a solid truck all night and had lots of opportunity to learn under the long green flag runs. We got faster with each run and I got more comfortable with the corner entry. We started getting a little tight on exit as the race progressed and the track bar adjustment the guys made really helped. We probably could have used more but at Texas you have to be really careful about over adjusting and making the truck too free. I can't thank the RSS Racing guys enough for all of their hard work, and for Jason Jarrett for keeping me clean through traffic in a very fast paced race. Texas Motor Speedway is home and I can't wait to be back," stated Lynch.

This race was the first career start at Texas Motor Speedway for Lynch but his 4th start in the series since 2012. His best finish in the NCWTS is 24th at Kentucky Motor Speedway in June of this year. Lynch also chose to display the logos of the East Texas Food Bank and Nick's Mission Backpack Program on his truck during the race to recognize these programs in their efforts to end hunger in east Texas.
